Over the past four years, the United States has experienced political turmoil, the likes of which it has never seen. To make sense of this, the Political Science Student Association (PSSA) has invited former governor of Vermont, Howard Dean.

Dean has extensive knowledge in health care, energy, education issues, and as well as extensive knowledge from his public service.

Governor Dean has served in multiple roles, including:

  • Representative in the Vermont House of Representatives (1983-86)
  • Lieutenant governor (1987-91)
  • Governor of Vermont (1991-2003)
  • Democratic presidential candidate (2003-04)
  • Democratic National Committee Chair (2005-09)

With this background, Dean is sure to deliver an interesting talk on U.S. politics.

Professor Graham Dodds will moderate the talk. Dodds has written extensively on the United States presidency. Some of his work include:

  • Mass Pardons in America (coming in summer 2021)
  • The Unitary Presidency (2019)
  • Take Up Your Pen (2013)

Registration is required for the event. If you would like to ask the former governor questions, please submit here.
