Concordia University's Public Scholars

10 real-world challenges…
10 unique approaches...
10 highly motivated PhD candidates who are ready to make a lasting impact...

On April 3, join Concordia’s Public Scholars — Amir Hooshiar, Bakhtiar Ali Khan, Eric Fillion, Laura Shine, Maya Hey, Michelle Savard, Milan Valyear, Nikola Stepić, Nura Jabagi, and Younes Medkour — for a unique pop-up event.

From edible insects to robot-assisted surgery and the gig economy, these next-generation thinkers and researchers are at the cutting-edge, pushing the boundaries of their fields and helping to craft our future.

Set in 4TH SPACE’s experiential premises, each scholar will be sharing insights with the public through an interdisciplinary display of multimedia, high-end technology and research posters.

Come develop a critical eye to better observe the inner workings of cultural diplomacy, create a dish to make insects a more desirable food option or discover how rats help us understand our own addictive behaviours.

Throughout the afternoon, hands-on approaches will combine with theoretical ones to introduce you to the innovative work of these researchers and learn about why it matters.

Wednesday, April 3, 2019
2 to 6 p.m.

Concordia's 4TH SPACE, ground floor of the J.W. McConnell (LB) Building, 1400 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W., Montreal
