Concordia University's Sustainability Ecosystem Initiative presents its first Virtual Learning Lab on Impact Investing. This workshop is open to anyone, and has been designed for professionals and students in marketing, accounting, business, finance, engineering, and science.

This session is being offered as part of Concordia's CU at Home initiative, a virtual learning series that offers webinars on a variety of topics.

Impact Investments are made with the intention of generating positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. The growing impact investment market provides capital to address the world’s most pressing challenges in sectors such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, conservation, microfinance, and affordable and accessible basic services including housing, healthcare, and education. According to the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), intention is a key concept in Impact Investing. Our goal is to introduce the basics behind impact investing, and give you the tools and knowledge necessary to apply it in your own financial functions.

The goal of this workshop is to create awareness about impact investing for individuals at all levels, and with virtually any background. Throughout the course of the workshop, you will learn key points about what impact investing is and how to start on your path to creating impact through investments.
