The Residential School legacy is a shameful chapter in Canadian history that future generations need to properly understand, contend with, and learn from.
What really transpired during this tragic period? And how devastating are the effects?
In this two-day workshop led by Chief Justice Sinclair and the Commission's General Counsel, Tom McMahon, you will be walked through the history of Indian Residential Schools, the lawsuits, the Settlement Agreement and the work of Canada’s only Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
A core objective of the Commission has been to "acknowledge Residential School experiences, impacts and consequences". Exactly what have we learned and what has the Commission heard?
