Elective group in sustainability studies
Many of the most pressing issues of the day have to do with the way humans interact with the environment, and sustainability topics engages across disciplines, as does this elective group.
This elective group is a 15-credit program to add value to and complement your BA, BSc, and BComm studies.
Overview
This program is specifically designed for students who do not have space for the Minor in Sustainability Studies but are still interested in the field.
- The main goals are to develop sustainability literacy from a broadly interdisciplinary perspective and situate the knowledge students gain from their focal disciplines within the context of complex local and global sustainability issues.
- The secondary goals are to support the development of globally responsible citizens and promote sustainability engagement on campus, in the local community, and globally.
- The Elective Group supports its vision through broad, flexible, interdisciplinary course offerings from across the university, allowing students to tailor their curriculum to their individual needs and interests while seeking expertise and insight from outside of their major discipline.
