Research interests

Nucleic acid-based therapeutics have gained great attention due to their potential to cure various genetic diseases including cancer. However, these therapeutics need to be encapsulated in a nanocarrier so as to protect them from degradation by nucleases and also to improve their target specificity, cellular uptake, and transfection efficiency. My research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of a block-copolymer based acid/redox responsive nanocarrier for on-demand gene delivery to target tumor site.

Previous work

I obtained my Master of Technology degree in Biotechnology from D. Y. Patil University, Navi Mumbai, India in June 2015. I joined Prof. Rohit Srivastava's Lab at the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, Powai, India as a research intern in Jan 2016. In his research group, I worked on the development of injectable drug-loaded composite hydrogel for rheumatoid arthritis. I joined Dynasense Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, India in Feb 2017 and as a biotechnologist, I worked on the development of a boronic acid-based fluorescent glucose sensor.
