Concordia University Student Parents Centre receives $3,692 donation
Campus Safety and Prevention Services (CSPS) is once again coming together in the spirit of giving, raising $3,692.07 in support of the Concordia University Student Parents Centre (CUSP).
This year’s total is the result of a series of successful, community-driven initiatives. The annual holiday raffle brought in $320, thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of CSPS staff.
Meanwhile, sales of the ever-popular Newton stress balls, named after CSPS’s beloved therapy dog, proved to be a standout success, generating $2,975 by mid-March.
Rounding out the total, CSPS also contributed unclaimed funds from its lost-and-found program, bringing the grand total to $3,692.07.
“This donation reflects the heart of our team,” says Darren Dumoulin, director of Campus Safety and Prevention Services.
“It’s a collective effort driven by people who genuinely care about our community and want to support student parents as they work towards their education.”
Supporting student parents
At the heart of this initiative is the Concordia University Student Parents Centre, which provides essential services that help student parents thrive, both academically and at home. From weekend childcare and affordable food options to school supplies and programming for children, CUSP plays a vital role in helping families succeed.
“The generous donation will have a meaningful impact in supporting the student parents we serve, many of whom are navigating significant challenges,” says Sumaiya Gangat, coordinator of CUSP.
The funds raised will enable CUSP to continue providing essential resources, programming, and support services to student parents, helping them navigate the complexities of academic life while raising a family.
