Get ready! Changes are coming to the Group Insurance Plan for CUPFA and CUCEPTFU members on September 1, 2025.

We are happy to announce the introduction of a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA) to the Comprehensive Health Plan for CUPFA and CUCEPTFU members along with some other adjustments.

These updates come after a collaborative process involving representatives of the Part-Time Concordia Employee Benefits Committee (PT-CEBC), including members of CUPFA and CUCEPTFU, as well as the University.

What’s changing?

The main new feature is the addition of a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA) to the group insurance plan. This account will provide an annual amount that you can use as needed to reimburse medical and dental expenses that are not covered or are only partially covered by the plan.

In addition, the Comprehensive Health Plan has been adjusted to ensure its affordability and sustainability while maintaining financial security for members.

What’s not changing?

There are no changes to the sick leave and short-term plans.

Rest assured!

You will continue to have access to a comprehensive health coverage under the Group Insurance Plan.

What’s next?

In August, you will receive a detailed announcement to learn more about these changes and will be invited to attend an information session.
