Students with SSHRC funding can be nominated to receive $50,000
The School of Graduate Studies is accepting nominations for the 2024 SSHRC Impact Awards (Talent Category) until February 9.
The $50,000 award is given by SSHRC to a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow each year to recognize academic excellence, talent for research and knowledge mobilization, and the potential to be a future leader. This annual award can be used as a fellowship to fund the recipient’s research over one year, or may be used to support research, knowledge mobilization or other research-related activities.
To be eligible for the award you must:
be a current graduate student or postdoctoral fellow
be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
hold a SSHRC fellowship or scholarship at the time of application (April 1, 2024)
How to apply:
Important: Students should not submit an application. Instead, kindly reach out to your supervisor for the nomination process.
To apply, please ask your supervisor to send the following documents by February 9 to cecilia.kramar@concordia.ca:
a written justification (up to 3 pages) that outlines the rationale for this nomination according to the award’s selection criteria
your CV
These justifications will be reviewed internally by the School of Graduate Studies who will then select a single institutional nomination for Concordia University. The selected nominee will have to compile a competitive application (which includes letters of reference) before the award’s final submission on April 1, 2024.
