Concordia’s New York alumni gathered in record numbers for the annual Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research, kicking off in Central Park on a perfect fall day October 18.

Donning Concordia colours, the team attracted several new alumni who recognized and joined the group, connecting with fond memories of their time in Montreal.

“New friends were made and old ones reunited,” says Russ Makofsky, New York alumni chapter co-president. “The opportunity to get together for an important cause and spend a day in Central Park is something we look forward to each year.”

The five-kilometre race was challenging with members of the team running and walking, connecting throughout and encouraging each other along the way.

After the race, hungry group members gathered for brunch at Le Pain Quotidien.

“We look forward to seeing everyone next year!” says Makofsky.

The chapter team raised $1,750, bringing their cumulative total to over $10,000.
