For Athena Tacet, a newly minted alumna from Concordia’s Department of Journalism, spring convocation was a milestone filled with joy, excitement, anxiety and nostalgia. It was the culmination of years of hard work that materialized into a well-deserved degree and a new life chapter after university.

Tacet was one of 5,000 graduates from across Concordia’s four Faculties and School of Graduate Studies who received degrees during seven convocation ceremonies at the Montreal’s Place Des Arts from June 18 to June 20, 2012. Each ceremony allowed family and friends to see their loved walk across the Place des Arts stage in academic triumph.

David Adelman, a student reporter from Concordia’s Department of Journalism, was behind-the-scenes to film and edit Tacet’s big day.

In this video, Tacet delivers a poignant, first-person report on what it means to graduate from university.
