Alum and professor's film wins Jutra for best documentary

Last Train Home, produced by Concordia professor Daniel Cross, MFA 98, won Best Documentary at Quebec's Jutra film awards, presented at a gala on March 28 at Montreal's TOHU.
Last Train Home was directed by Lixin Fan, and produced by Cross, who teaches in Concordia's Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. Cross is the founding owner of EyeSteelFilm, which was also responsible for producing Up the Yangtze.
Set in China, Last Train Home is an observational documentary that charts the dramatic journey of one family but represents the challenges facing a changing nation and a troubled world.
