Driving change: Golf Classic raises over $750K for Concordia students
Industry leaders, donors and friends came together on August 31 at Golf Griffon des Sources in Mirabel, Que., for the 2026 Concordia Golf Classic — a day of connection, camaraderie and philanthropy with a lasting impact on students.
This year’s tournament raised a record $750,439 for scholarships and bursaries, bringing the Golf Classic’s total fundraising since 2004 to more than $9.6 million.
A long-standing tradition on Quebec’s philanthropic calendar, the Golf Classic brings together leaders from across the business community — including executives from the province’s major financial institutions.
The funds raised provide scholarships that recognize academic and athletic achievement, as well as bursaries that help students facing financial barriers.
“A scholarship or bursary can make a real difference — giving students more freedom to focus on their studies and less worry about how to pay for them,” said Tony Aksa, regional vice-president for Commercial and Private Banking 1859 at the National Bank.
This fall: Win a Rolex!
Contributing to the 2026 fundraising total by as much as $100,000 is a special raffle announced at the tournament. Launching this fall, the raffle offers participants the chance to win an exceptional Rolex Submariner — generously donated by a long-time friend of the Golf Classic — while supporting Concordia students.
To date, more than 1,700 students have benefited from Golf Classic scholarships and bursaries, receiving support at pivotal moments in their university journeys.
With more than half of Concordia’s students relying on financial assistance, the generosity behind the Golf Classic remains more important than ever. Year after year, this community comes together to help students move forward and make their mark.
