Road closures to affect the Sir George Williams Campus September 26 and 27
The 2026 UCI Road World Championships take place across Montreal from September 19 to 27. Traffic disruptions are expected downtown, with direct impacts to the Sir George Williams Campus on September 26 and 27.
Several streets around campus will be closed to general vehicle traffic or have access restrictions during the races, including:
- De Maisonneuve Boulevard West
- Sainte-Catherine Street West
- Saint-Mathieu Street
- Sherbrooke Street West
- Lincoln Avenue
The closures will begin each morning at approximately 7 a.m. Streets will reopen after the events have concluded.
Pedestrian crossings will be available at various locations along the race routes.
Plan ahead
Traffic congestion is expected in the area throughout both days. Members of the Concordia community travelling to or from the Sir George Williams Campus are encouraged to plan their trips in advance and consider using public transit, cycling or walking.
Parking will also be prohibited on the race routes from midnight on September 26 until the end of the races on September 27. Vehicles left in restricted areas may be towed.
