Pierrette Bilodeau (1967-2025): ‘One of the nicest kindest people I’ve ever worked with’
Longtime Concordia employee Pierrette Bilodeau passed away on December 2. She was 58. Bilodeau started working at Concordia in 1996 as a casual employee in Custodial Services. She became permanent in April 2000 in the same area and remained an employee of the university for the rest of her life.
Her friends and colleagues remember her as always smiling and willing to make the time for a quick, friendly chat.
“She was one of the nicest, kindest people I’ve ever worked with at Concordia,” says Candace Jacobs, director of internal communications with University Communications Services. “She never seemed to be stressed or bothered or upset. She was such a pleasant colleague who everyone seemed to know and appreciate.”
Michel Gendron from the Department of Transport, Mail and Distribution Services, remembers Bilodeau as a very good worker, who was a great person to talk to. “She had a very big heart and a lot of people will miss her,” he added.
Desmond O’Neill, Bilodeau’s supervisor with Custodial Services, says she was a fixture at Concordia.
“Everyone knew her and she greeted everyone warmly,” he recalls. “Pierrette spent 29 years working to keep our facilities clean and, just as importantly, her coworkers happy. Her life can best be summed up by saying that she loved coming to work every day, her friends, family, travelling and her dog, Cooper."
