Daniel Therrien is returning to Concordia to assume the role of executive director of Strategic Business Units Compliance and Support. His five-year term begins on August 19.

In his new position, Therrien will provide counsel and strategic guidance to several Concordia units that work in close collaboration with outside agencies and partners.

“Each of these units brings with it a separate and distinct set of challenges,” says Denis Cossette, Concordia’s chief financial officer.

“Daniel will act as a consulting resource to address resourcing and procurement matters, help develop and implement partnership models, and ensure appropriate financial planning and forecasting is in place. Please join me in welcoming Daniel back to Concordia.”

Therrien is returning to the university from the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), where he was appointed registrar in May 2018.

Previously, Therrien served as Concordia’s registrar from June 2016 to May 2018, as well as university controller from August 2010 to May 2016.

He first joined Concordia in 1998 as the controller of the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science (previously known as the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science). He joined the Office of the Vice-President, Finance in 2002, where he held several positions leading to university controller in 2010.
