Abraham Brodt named chair of the Department of Finance

JMSB Dean Steve Harvey announced that Abraham Brodt has been appointed Chair of the Department of Finance.

“Abraham brings a wealth of experience to his new role,” says Harvey. Brodt has been teaching in the department since 1983 and was the long-time director of the Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management Program (KWPMP). “Under his leadership,” Harvey continues, “the KWPMP fund outperformed its benchmark in most years and is a reference to other programs across institutions as a gold standard. He recruited many talented students into the program that he helped grow into one of JMSB’s signature programs.”

Brodt replaces Thomas Walker, who guided the department to success in attracting excellent students at all levels of study.

“Thomas also spearheaded the hiring of new scholars that will contribute to the department’s strong reputation at research,” says Harvey. “He has been instrumental support in our efforts to continue raising funds for our students and research.  I would like to thank Thomas for the stellar job he did in his role as chair.”
