Chancellor recognized as Companion of the Order of Canada

L. Jacques Ménard, chancellor of Concordia, received the snowflake insignia that marks his promotion to Companion of the Order of Canada from Governor General David Johnston during an investiture ceremony at Rideau Hall on November 22.

The chair of BMO Nesbitt Burns and president of BMO Financial Group, Ménard received the country’s highest public distinction for his “charitable and philanthropic involvement in a host of organizations and causes.”

Ménard was first appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 1995, and was promoted to the rank of Officer in 2000. Created in 1967, during Canada’s centennial year, the Order of Canada recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.
