With arena renovations and the construction of two new amphitheatres in full swing, not to mention a myriad of roof and masonry repair projects – the Loyola Campus will be bustling with renovation activity during the summer term.

Here’s a look at some of the projects the Department of Facilities Management is overseeing this spring and summer.

Ed Meagher Arena:
Ice surface and locker room demolition is complete. The next phase involves rebuilding the locker rooms and installing a concrete foundation for the new carbon dioxide (CO2) refrigeration system. Read more.

Residence:
Hingston Hall A: Renovations to the community kitchen
Hingston Hall B: Washroom upgrades and roof repairs
Hingston Hall C: Roof repairs and the construction of two new amphitheatres to allow for tiered classrooms that will seat 200 people, expected to be ready in January.

Psychology Building:
•    Renovation of exterior stairs
•    Rebuilding of exterior walls (including masonry work) 
•    Roof repairs
•    Construction of a Chronic Caregiving Stress Lab
•    Major excavation will take place in order to change the French drain; the perimeter of the building will be cordoned off

F.C. Smith Building:
•    The stairwell on the east side of the building will be closed for repairs. Users can use alternate entrances on the south, west and north sides of the building.
•    Masonry work

Administration Building:
•    Masonry work
•    Roof repairs
•    Installation of a new fire alarm

Central Building:

•    The north staircase that currently runs from the second to fourth floor will be extended to the ground level. Further, exterior access will be created with the addition of an entryway on the south side of the building.
•    Masonry work

Vanier Extension, Vanier Library, Oscar Peterson Concert Hall, Recreation and Athletics Sports Complex, Physical Services Building:
•    Roof repairs
