Construction update: De Maisonneuve roadwork

Traffic rerouting to continue through October
October 9, 2012

Several unexpected delays are pushing back the city’s schedule for roadwork along De Maisonneuve Boulevard West between Guy and Bishop streets. While pavers are completed and a pedestrian corridor is now present in front of the Henry F. Hall Building, between Bishop and Mackay streets, the remaining work is expected to be completed by the end of October, with traffic rerouting continuing until then.

Following the discovery late last week of a technical issue with the condition of the existing asphalt, city project managers are revising their timeline and action plan for the section of De Maisonneuve running between Bishop and Mackay. Repaving work has been halted until a decision is made.

Repaving has also been postponed until October 10 for the strip between Guy and Mackay, allowing for a concrete slab, recently installed at the intersection, to properly cure.

In the meantime, the shuttle bus will remain at the southeast corner of Bishop and De Maisonneuve, in front of the former Bishop Court, until further notice.

Questions can be directed to the Service Centre: 514-848-2424, ext. 2400.
