Important information regarding payment of tuition fees

On September 5, Quebec premier-elect Pauline Marois indicated her intention to roll back the increase in tuition fees. Until Concordia receives official directives from the new Government of Quebec, the current tuition fee structure remains in place. The university will advise students once it receives new directives. Please review the frequently asked questions for more information.

Frequently asked questions for students regarding tuition fees

1.    Do I have to pay the increase in tuition fees in light of the announcement by the Quebec premier-elect?

Yes. Until Concordia receives official directives from the Government of Quebec, the current tuition fee structure remains in place. This means that you are expected to pay the tuition fees for the fall 2012 term. Billing information is available on the MyConcordia student portal under Student's Account. The deadline to pay is September 30.

2.    What happens if I don’t pay the increase in tuition fees for the fall 2012 term because of the announcement by the Quebec premier-elect?
Until Concordia receives official directives from the new Government of Quebec regarding tuition fees, you are still expected to pay the tuition fees for the fall 2012 term. Billing information is available on the MyConcordia student portal under Student's Account.

When Concordia receives official notification regarding a rollback in tuition fees, the university will take appropriate action to make the necessary adjustments to your account. We will also send you an email and post information on the MyConcordia log-in page for students.

3.    Can I pay my tuition fees for the fall 2012 term but not pay the increase?
At this time, you are required to pay the full amount of your tuition fees. Until Concordia receives official notification from the Government of Quebec, the current tuition fee structure remains in place.

4.    Will Concordia postpone the deadline for payment of tuition fees?
No. September 30 remains the deadline for students to pay tuition fees for the fall 2012 term.

5.    If the increase in tuition fees is rolled back by the Government of Quebec, how will students be notified?
When Concordia receives official directives from the Government of Quebec regarding tuition fees for the 2012-13 academic year, the university will take appropriate action to make the necessary adjustments to your account. We also send you an email and post information on the MyConcordia log-in page for students.
