At a bustling university with almost 46,000 students and thousands of employees, it can be daunting to stay abreast of the sheer volume of initiatives, projects and achievements. The Open to Question discussion series aims to facilitate the challenge by making Concordia experts and leaders available for a lunchtime discussion.

Entering its second year, the series is building on last year’s success. An initiative of University Communications Services, Open to Question invites Concordians to listen to a short presentation on a particular topic and then pose questions.

The first Open to Question event features the director of the David O’Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise, Paul Shrivastava, who will make a brief presentation on the Sustainable Investment Professional Certification (SIPC) program, launched this fall.

Graduates of the program will be qualified to serve a new breed of investors who want investments to generate positive financial returns while creating positive environmental and social impacts. It is the first professional designation to be offered through a university business school and geared specifically towards investment professionals.

When:
  Wednesday, September 28 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where:  Room MB 3.270, John Molson School of Business Building (1450 Guy St.)

The event is free of charge and open to all interested Concordians. People are invited to bring their own lunch. All Open to Question events are recorded and later posted on NOW.

Past topics include public art at Concordia, academic integrity, Open Access, interdisciplinarity and Maclean’s university rankings. Future topics include the university budget and the Academic Plan.

Stay tuned to NOW, Concordia’s office news source, for more Open to Question events.
