Responsible for the design, development and support of enterprise computer applications and the administration of databases, Aragona will coordinate application development efforts across the university.

“Given Alex’s track record in successfully designing, leading and implementing IT systems at Concordia — combined with his communication skills, customer focus approach and team player attitude — I am confident that he will bring further success to the development of IT at the university,” says Denoncourt.

Prior to his promotion, which took effect June 20, 2011, Aragona served as Assistant Director of the Database Administration (DBA) and Management Information Systems (MIS) groups. In this role, he led the successful migration of legacy human resources (HR) systems to the university’s current HR Information Systems. He also upgraded and implemented Banner version 8, and served on multiple strategic level committees.

Aragona holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Concordia University, as well as an MBA from Concordia’s John Molson School of Business (JMSB). He is also co-founder of the Gianni Forlini Award, which is granted to a deserving student pursuing his/her Bachelor of Administration or Commerce at the JMSB.
