What happens when Concordia’s hallowed halls are the backdrop for a video camera and the thought-provoking question: Who inspires you?

Watch the video for the students' sometimes surprising answers:

Speaking of leaders who live what they believe — David Suzuki, environmental activist and science broadcaster, and Stephen Lewis, former United Nations Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa — will both be in Montreal on April 28 to talk about community engagement at the second Youth Action Montreal conference Living Your Legacy.

Michaëlle Jean, Canada’s former Governor General, will address the crowd via a taped message, while her husband, Jean-Daniel Lafond, will be present.

Craig Kielburger will also be a keynote speaker at the conference. Kielburger is the founder and chair of Free the Children, a unique international development and youth empowerment organization. Since 1995, it has become the world’s leading youth-driven charity, inspiring an entire generation to stand up and have their voices heard.

The leaders will no doubt echo one student in this video. “Students have a lot more power than they think they do,” says Stephanie Siriwardhana. “You could do miracles, and it’s all in your hands. [You] just need to take action.”
