Kiran Vadaga, undergraduate student in the Department of Psychology, won the poster competition for Life Sciences & Cognitive Science at the Rising Stars of Research (RSR) conference which was held at the University of British Columbia on August 19th

“It was very inspiring and energizing to meet many other young undergraduate students who were passionate about research and their studies. I learned a lot about many disciplines”, said Vadaga who was one of 120 undergraduates from across Canada and Hong Kong who presented their research creation projects at the RSR conference.
Vadaga, whose research focuses on how different kinds of distractibility can affect an individual’s immediate memory, will be working on his MA in Psychology starting this fall.

Vadaga conducted his research under the supervision of Karen Li, Associate Director of the Centre for Research in Human Development and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology.
