Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- The Ottawa Citizen publishes an opinion piece by Kyle Matthews, executive director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) at Concordia, who calls on the federal government to revoke the honorary Canadian citizenship of Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Matthews says the honour must be withdrawn in light of persistent reports of government-led atrocity crimes against Myanmnar's Rohingya Muslim minority.
- Chedly Belkhodja, principal of and professor in the School of Community and Public Affairs (SCPA) in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was on CJAD Radio yesterday (no link available) for a talk with host Aaron Rand about the plight of "dreamer" immigrants in the U.S. with the announcement that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program was being abolished.
- Belkhodja is quoted in Canadian Immigrant, in an article about the need for immigration in Atlantic Canada to counter a trend of negative population growth.
- Jason Prince, part-time faculty in the School of Community and Public Affairs of the Faculty of Arts and Science, participated in a panel discussion of current traffic concerns in Montreal, earlier today on City TV Montreal's 'Breakfast Television' (no link available).
