  • Newsweek, for the second time this week, looks at the human fascination with end-of-the-world predictions as another doomsday deadline passes. It quotes Lorenzo DiTommaso, professor of religions and cultures in the Faculty of Arts and Science, who the publication notes wrote a book on the history of apocalypse theories (The Architecture of Apocalypticism, Oxford University Press).
  • Please note: Antoine Rayroux, assistant professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, will be a guest of Mutsumi Takahashi on CTV Montreal's News at Noon this afternoon at 12:30 to talk about the German elections and its implications for Europe.
  • BNN quotes former Air Canada president Pierre Jeanniot in a story (video and text) about Boeing's complaint that its regional aircraft face unfair competition from Bombardier's C-Series. Jeanniot was interviewed for BNN in his capacity as chairman of the advisory board at Concordia's Aviation Think Tank.
  • A CNW/Telbec release announcing a news conference about this year's Shrinebowl charity football game for the Shriners Hospital lists Stingers football head coach Mickey Donovan among the participants at the media event, this morning at the Shriners. The release is picked up by Money News, Canadian Insider and MorningStar.
  • Érik Goulet, part-time cinema instructor at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema, talks to Animation World Network (AWN) about his experience judging the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival, held earlier this month at the J.A. de Sève Theatre. AWN notes that Goulet launched the festival in 2009.
