Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Postmedia quotes Moshe Lander, economics lecturer in the Faculty of Arts and Science, in an article about efforts to secure a deal for the construction of a new NHL arena in Calgary: The Province, Calgary Herald, Calgary Sun.
- The Conversation (reprised by the Los Angeles Times and Seattle Pi) publishes three articles relating to the RAISE Act — an immigration bill introduced in the U.S. Senate in February — including one by Mireille Paquet, assistant professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, who writes about Canada's own permanent immigration program.
- Damon Matthews, professor and Concordia Research Chair in Climate Science and Sustainability in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was a guest this weekend on Global TV's 'Focus Montreal' (no link available), where he talked about hurricanes and climate change.
- Press Release Point publishes a news brief about a three-week summer workshop in Hawaii entitled “He Au Hou: Telling Mo‘olelo through Video Games”. It explains that the workshop was a collaborative effort driven in part by Concordia's Aboriginal Territories in Cyberspace (AbTeC) and its Milieux Initiative for Indigenous Futures (IIF).
