Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • Graham Dodds, associate chair of and associate professor in the Department of Political Science, in the Faculty of Arts and Science, appears in studio on CTV Montreal's News at Noon to talk about rising tensions between the U.S. and North Korea.
  • The New York Times again turns to Mireille Paquet, assistant professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, for her perspective on the recent surge of refugees seeking asylum in Canada from across the U.S. border. The New York Times article is picked up by numerous news publications and platforms: The Seattle Times,Eurasia Diary, Reddit, Maritime First, A News, News 24 Global, Right Wing Conservative, Blab.
  • Simone de Beauvoir Institute principal and associate professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science Kimberley Manning is quoted in a CBC.ca story about an RCMP press release detailing how women can avoid being sexually assaulted. Critics say it's unfortunate the release focused only on women and Manning says it failed to address underlying issues or encourage victim support groups. The quotes of Manning are from a CBC Nunavut radio interview (no audio link available). Manning will appear on CBC Radio’s Seat at the Table Saturday August, 12 to discuss a Pride Conference that is being hosted by the Simone de Beauvoir Institute.
