Researchers in the news
The scholarly work of Concordia faculty and researchers informs and improves society on many issues that affect our daily lives. Visit the Research section to read news stories involving research at Concordia, or read the most recent items here:
- Yves Gélinas, professor and Concordia University Research Chair in Environmental Chemistry in the Faculty of Arts and Science, is quoted throughout a Radio-Canada.ca story on low levels of dissolved oxygen in parts of the Saint-Lawrence, particularly across from Rimouski and Matane, which could pose a threat to biodiversity in the estuary. The reporter notes that the findings were collected by Gélinas and a team of researchers during a recent mission aboard the research vessel, Coriolis II. The story is reprised by Sympatico.ca and Le Réseau d'Information Municipale du Québec (behind a paywall) and is linked by Alvinet. The research mission is reported also bySasknow.ca.
- Dylan Smith, postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Studies in Behavioral Neurobiology (CSBN) at Concordia, was a guest of Natasha Hall on CJAD Radio, where he discussed his work on dreams. Find the link to the interview through the "Listen" section, toward the middle of the page: click on "See More" until you see the link, "He studies dreaming for a living!".
