• AMEQ en ligne writes about a recent study, published in Teaching and Teacher Education, of popular perceptions of the 'ideal' teacher. The study, led by Sandra Chang-Kredl, assistant professor of education in the Faculty of Arts and Science, and recent graduate Daniela Colannino (MA 16, child studies), examines representations of teachers on the social media platform, Reddit.
• Longevity references the 2016 Concordia study, led by PERFORM Centre researcher Jason Steffener, that shows how simple physical activity such as taking the stairs can significantly slow the rate of ageing of the brain. The study findings were published in Neurobiology of Aging.
• The book, Youth Practices in Digital Arts and New Media: Learning in Formal and Informal Settings (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015), co-authored by Juan Carlos Castro, associate professor of art education in the Faculty of Fine Arts and University of Manitoba professor Joanna Black, is referenced in University of Manitoba release.
