Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Guy Lachapelle, professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was heard earlier this week on the Radio Canada Première Chaîne program, 'L'heure du monde', were he spoke with host Alexandra Szacka about the latest developments in the lead-up to a re-negotiation of the Free Trade Agreement. The interview is found through the third link, 'Priorités américaines pour l'ALÉNA'. Lachapelle was interviewed yesterday on the same subject on the CBC Radio program Homerun (no link available).
- Chedly Belkhodja, principal and professor in the School of Community and Public Affairs was interviewed about the defeat, by referendum, of a project to allow the creation of a Muslim cemetery in Saint-Apollinaire, southeast of Quebec City. Belkhodja was interviewd on CBC's Radio Noon as well as the Radio-Canada morning radio program in Moncton, N.B. (no links available).
- Michel Magnan, professor of accountancy and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chair in Corporate Governance, is quoted in an article in LaPresse.ca about the City of Montreal spending $7.5-million dollars to build new security barriers for the Formula E race, at the end of the month. Magnan tells the paper that because Montreal so far has signed on for only three years as race host, it would have made more sense to rent security barriers rather than build new ones at greater cost.
