Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • Yasmin Jiwani, professor in the Department of Communication Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Science, writes about "virtual graveyards" and cyber-memorial sites on the web that are said to help with the grieving process following the death of a loved one: The Conversation Canada.
  • André Gagné, associate professor of theological studies in the Faculty of Arts and Science, and Marc-André Argentino, PhD candidate (religion) and Digital Fellow of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS), co-author a piece in The Mantle about the ISIS propaganda machine and the destruction of the al-Nuri mosque in Mosul.
  • La Voix de l'Est features ceramics artist Francine Potvin, part-time faculty in the Studio Arts Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, as Potvin prepares to embark on a week-long maritime trip aboard the former icebreaker, 'Polar Prince'. The expedition is part of the 'Canada C3' project to mark the country's 150th anniversary. Potvin won her berth from among about 5000 Canadians from all walks of life who applied to participate in the project, consisting of a tour of Canada's three coasts.
