Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Jordan Le Bel, associate professor of marketing, writes about finding pleasure at the dining table: Le must.
- Breitbart, writing about climate science and how it's treated in the news and in entertainment media, quotes Lorenzo DiTommaso, professor of religions and cultures in the Faculty of Arts and Science, from a New Scientist article of May 20, 2011, where he talks about doomsday predictions throughout history.
- Policy Options carries an edited excerpt of an address given by Homa Hoodfar, professor emeritus of anthropology, at the recent Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences. Hoodfar advocates for the recognition of academic freedom as a transnational right. Hoodfar was released last fall following a lengthy incarceration in an Iranian prison. Hoodfar was never formally charged but the Iranian government cited its objection to her academic research and writings.
