- The Victoria Times Colonist runs an opinion piece co-authored by Kimberley Manning, principal of the Simone de Beauvoir Institute and associate professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, and Elizabeth J. Meyer, associate dean of teacher education at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In the piece, which first ran in the Montreal Gazette on June 7, Manning and Meyer write about bullying of transgender youth in schools and urge the Canadian Senate to pass Bill C-16 on transgender rights.
