Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

• The Suburban quotes Michael Kenneally, principal and chair of the School of Irish Studies at Concordia, in an article about a recent march where participants voiced concern about plans by Hydro Quebec to build a power substation in the area around the Black Rock. The monument in Pointe Saint-Charles is in memory of the more than 6,000 Irish immigrants who died in Montreal from typhus in the 1800s. The rock marks the area where mass graves were dug to bury many of the dead.
• The Calgary Herald picks up an earlier article from the Montreal Gazette about growing pressure on university resources that offer help to students in distress. Gaya Arasaratnam, director of health at Campus Wellness and Support Services at Concordia, is quoted.
