Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Kimberley Manning, principal of the Simone de Beauvoir Institute and professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was interviewed by Natasha Hall on CJAD Radio about the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia and the Senate hearings into Bill C-16, the transgender rights bill. Please note: Manning will be interviewed in studio today for CTV Montreal's News at Noon.
- Pascale Biron, professor in the Department of Geography, Planning & the Environment in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was interviewed by Mario Dumont on his mid-day news magazine on TVA, yesterday. Biron, seen from the 14:45-mark, talks about Quebec's poor preparedness for flooding.
- Doctoral candidate (humanities) and Concordia Public Scholar Alex McClelland co-authors an opinion piece in theTorontoist that draws parallels between the rise in the number of deaths from opioids and deaths at the height of the AIDS epidemic in the late 80s and early 90s. McClelland and his co-author, activist Zoƫ Dodd, write about the marginalization and criminalization they say both groups of victims have endured.
