University affairs

Various issues concerning Concordia University are often reported on by news outlets. Here is the most recent coverage pertaining to the institution:

  • LaPresse.ca joined yesterday's media coverage of a statement by president Alan Shepard concerning the "Trump effect" on university enrolment in Canada: Shepard, speaking with reporters following his speech before the Conseil des Relations Internationales de MontrĂ©al (CORIM) on Wednesday afternoon, remarked that the election of Donald Trump seemed to signal a wave of "regressive nationalism" that coincides with a significant increase in the number of students and academics opting to move to Canada rather than to the United States. Shepard called on the Canadian government to take full advantage of the "Trump effect" by simplifying the process of moving to Canada. Life in Quebec picked up a Canadian Press report on Shepard's remarks, which were also reported by Mingpao Canada and iAsk.ca (both in Chinese).
  • MontrĂ©al Centre-Ville, writing about business incubators and accelerators, references Concordia's District 3, whose general manager, Noor el Bawab, is quoted.
