Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Central Illinois Proud reprises an earlier story quoting Gary Johns, professor emeritus of management at the John Molson School of Business, about efforts by state lawmakers in Illinois to pass mandatory sick leave legislation. Johns is presented as an expert on the cost of workplace 'presenteeism'.
- Journal Métro, writing about women who have distinguished themselves in the field of e-textiles and wearables, references two Concordians: Barbara Layne, professor of fibres and material practices in the Faculty of Fine Arts and founder of Studio SubTela at Hexagram-Concordia, and Joanna Berzowska, associate professor in the Department of Design and Computation Arts and founding director of XS Labs at Concordia. Both Layne and Berzowska are members of Milieux’s textile and materiality research cluster.
- Fabula announces a symposium at Queen's University in Kingston, Friday, April 7, titled 'Pratiques politiques dans les écritures contemporaines en France et au Québec'. It lists Sylvain David, assistant professor in the Département d'Études françaises of the Faculty of Arts and Science among the speakers.
