Homa Hoodfar book launch. Montreal's Irish musical heritage.

• Concordia anthropology professor emerita Homa Hoodfar was a guest on two segments of CBC Radio's 'Homerun'yesterday afternoon (the link, to a Facebook video of the in-studio interview, is found roughly two-thirds of the way down the page) and was interviewed for CBC Radio in Quebec City (no link available). Hoodfar talked about her new book, Women’s Sport as Politics in Muslim Contexts, published last year by London-based charity Women Living Under Muslim Laws. The Canadian launch of the book was delayed by Hoodfar's incarceration in Iran last year. All Events announces that the book launch with Hoodfar will take place this afternoon at five at the Webster Library.
• Lien Multimédia (behind a paywall) joins media coverage of the work by Concordia researcher Jérémy Tétrault-Farber, PhD candidate in the humanities interdisciplinary program, to uncover Montreal's Irish musical heritage.
