Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • André Gagné, associate professor of theological studies in the Faculty of Arts and Science, writes an opinion piece, published by OpenCanada.org, where he cautions that while police ultimately may not treat the Quebec City mosque shooting as a terrorist act, extremist thinking behind such acts is a serious threat that needs to be better understood.
  • Jean-Philippe Warren, associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts and Science, appears on the Radio-Canada Première Chaîne program, Plus on est de fous plus on lit, where he discusses the origin and use of the word "taboo". The link to the Warren segment, titled "Le mot à définir avec Jean-Philippe Warren : Tabou", is found roughly one-third of the way down the show page.
  • The Brandon Sun reprises an earlier piece from the Globe and Mail by Kathleen O’Grady, research associate in the Simone de Beauvoir Institute, who offers money-saving tips on buying prescription medication.
  • A news release announcing the Hamburg Aviation Conference, tomorrow and Thursday, notes the participation of an expert from Concordia, who is not identified: EIN Presswire, KLTV, WDRB, WFMJ.
