Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • Guy Lachapelle, political science professor in the Faculty of Arts and Science and Secretary General of the International Political Science Association (IPSA), co-authors an analytical piece in Saturday's Le Devoir about the impact the Trump presidency may have on Quebec and its relations with the U.S. Lachapelle was also a guest this morning on the RDI matin television news magazine (no link available), where he discussed the latest developments in Washington.
  • Chedly Belkhodja, principal of and professor in the School of Community and Public Affairs of the Faculty of Arts and Science, is quoted in an article in the Montreal Gazette that looks at a push for inclusion and tolerance in the wake of the mosque shooting in Quebec City. The piece is reprised in the Regina Leader-Post.
  • Equilibrio Informativo quotes Graham Dodds, associate professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, from an earlier article published last week in USA Today in which Dodds says that some of the executive orders signed by President Donald Trump have little policy impact and seem to have been more for symbolic or rhetorical purposes.
  • The McCord Museum announces 'Inside Out' —  an outdoor installation of portraits of 21 Montrealers noted as innovators. Among them is Joanna Berzowska, associate professor in the Department of Design and Computation Arts, member of the Milieux Institute’sTextile and Materiality research cluster, founder of XS Labs at Concordia and director of electronic textiles at OMsignal.
