University affairs

Various issues concerning Concordia University are often reported on by news outlets. Here is the most recent coverage pertaining to the institution:

  • The John Molson School of Business is ranked in the mid-tier of Canadian schools listed by QS in its Global 250 Business Schools Report for 2017, which was released last Thursday: The Globe and Mail, TopMBA (behind a registration wall), iask.ca  and info51.ca (the last two, in Chinese)
  • The Globe and Mail, reporting on an anticipated increase in federal government funding for business incubators and accelerators, writes that roughly 30 percent of the startups entering Concordia’s District 3 Innovation Centre have previously gone through another accelerator or incubator, or been part of an innovation hub. The report says the statistic highlights the difficulty inherent in taking reliable measurements of business startup activities.
  • A brief in Courrier Expat references Concordia's new Certificate in Business Ownership program, launched this semester at the John Molson School of Business. The same brief also mentions the initiative by Rebecca Duclos, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts,  to bridge the academic gap between liberal arts and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Duclos is quoted.
