Researchers in the news
The scholarly work of Concordia faculty and researchers informs and improves society on many issues that affect our daily lives. Visit the Research section to read news stories involving research at Concordia, or read the most recent items here:
- Recent Concordia graduate Marina Doucerain (PhD 15) is a guest on CBC Montreal Radio's 'Homerun' (no link available), where she talks about her study describing the importance for newly-arrived immigrants of forming friendships with people within their new mainstream cultural group. Doucerain's research, carried out as part of her PhD dissertation with Concordia’s INDI program, was published in Personal and Social Psychology Bulletin. The story is picked up by Medical Xpress and AMEQ en ligne (behind a paywall).
- Conseiller references a 2011 Concordia study of the phenomenon of "presenteeism", where people who are ill create a productivity problem by reporting for work despite their illness. The research, published in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, was conducted by management professor emeritus Gary Johns.
