Various issues concerning Concordia University are often reported on by news outlets. Here is the most recent coverage pertaining to the institution:
- Nation Talk reprises a news release announcing that Concordia has received funding to renew four existing Canada Research Chairs and funding for one new chair in Oral History Performance, to be held by Luis C. Sotelo Castro, associate professor in the Department of Theatre. Castro's CRC appointment will affiliate him with Concordia's Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling. Details of the new and renewed chairs are found here.
- Maclean's (reprised by Latest Canada) runs an article about campus life at Concordia. The piece includes information about where to find the best cheap or free lunch on or around campus and where students can find the best study spots. The article links to an earlier Maclean's piece profiling Concordia.
- Cynthia Hammond, associate professor in the Department of Art History, was interviewed, along with one of her students, for last Saturday's CBC Montreal radio program 'All in a Weekend'. The focal point of the interview was Concordia's Right to the City program, as it wraps up after three years. The program included four history and arts-related courses taught by four different Concordia professors, and was run from the Share the Warmth community services organization in Pointe-Saint-Charles.
- H-Net posts a call for proposals for articles to be published by the recently-launched Concordia University Press.
- Homa Hoodfar's recent arrest and release by Iran's Revolutionary Guard is referenced in an article in Stop Fundamentalism about the arrest in Tehran, in July, of American-Iranian dual national Karan Vafadari and his wife Afarin Niasari.
