Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

• Sandra Chang-Kredl, assistant professor of education in the Faculty of Arts and Science, writes a piece in theMontreal Gazette about the latest Christmas toy craze: an electronic bird-like creature called the 'Hatchimal'. Chang-Kredl tells stressed-out parents who are desperate to find a Hatchimal that they should take it easy and consider that children, while they love a good toy, also appreciate parents who are "happy, relaxed and have the energy to play with the toys with them". The opinion piece is reprised by the Windsor Star. 
• Uri Shalev, associate professor of psychology in the Faculty of Arts and Science, talks to The Halifax Chronicle Herald about the effects of marijuana use on the brain, particularly in teenagers and young adults.
• Fenwick McKelvey, assistant professor of communication studies in the Faculty of Arts and Science, is listed as a signatory to an open letter in the National Observer that expresses concern about a perceived lack of transparency in public consultations on  Bill C-51, the anti-terrorism legislation.
