Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • Rebecca Duclos, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, is quoted in a piece in Maclean's about efforts, in the academic world, to bridge the gap between liberal arts and "STEM" (science, technology, engineering and math).  It mentions a program developed by Duclos called Foyer: a physical space where students from all academic disciplines at Concordia can come together to discuss collaboration.
  • Axel Huelsemeyer, associate professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was on CJAD's Aaron Rand Show yesterday to discuss the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the European Union (no link available).
  • Karl Hele, associate professor of First Peoples Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Science, writes in the Sault Starabout the rout of American soldiers by First Nations fighters in the Indigenous Western Confederacy, in present day Ohio, on November 4, 1791 — a military engagement Hele says is largely ignored by history.
