Students
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- CBC.ca reports that Concordia PhD student Kelly Norah Drukker was a double winner at Tuesday's Quebec Writers Federation gala and annual awards, taking both the Concordia University First Book Prize and the A.M. Klein Prize for Poetry for her first collection of poems, Small Fires, (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2016).
- Please note: two Concordia journalism students — Joe Arciresi and Casandra DeMasi — will be interviewed forGlobal's 'Focus Montreal' program this weekend. They will discuss their work with New York Times managing editor and Concordia journalist-in-residence Patti Sonntag on an in-depth journalistic investigation focusing on the government response to a severe budworm infestation in northern Quebec. The investigative piece appeared in the November 15 issue of The Walrus. The interview with Arciresi and DeMasi will air Saturday at 5:30 pm and again on Sunday, at 7:30 am, 11:30 am and midnight.
- Le Devoir writes about the rise in popularity of electronic sports, particularly among university students, and notes the presence of esports student groups on a number of Quebec university campuses, including Concordia (the Concordia E-sports Student Association).
