Students
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- The Montreal Gazette publishes two articles about yesterday's Quebec Writers Federation gala and annual awards: the first (reprised by the Ottawa Citizen and Edmonton Journal) lists the nominees for the various prizes, including Concordia PhD student Kelly Norah Drukker, on the short list for the Concordia University First Book Prize and the A.M. Klein Prize for Poetry for her first collection of poems, Small Fires, (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2016); the second (reprised by the Ottawa Citizen and Edmonton Journal) confirms Drukker has won both awards for which she was nominated.
- Space Concordia president Nicholas Moore is interviewed by Mutsumi Takahashi on the CTV Montreal noon news. Moore describes the work of the student group, whose members come from different departments and faculties across campus. The interviewer mentions Space Concordia's plan to make Concordia the first university in Quebec to put a satellite into earth orbit.
- Geekbecois notes that this year's 'Sommet d’Animation Montreal' — the five-day animation film festival opening tomorrow at the Cinémathèque québécoise — includes three films produced by Concordia students.
