Students
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- La Presse + reports on tomorrow's visit by a group of Concordia students to the Berkshire Hathaway offices of Warren Buffet, in Omaha. The 15 students, participating in the Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management program (KWPMP) at the John Molson School of Business, will spend about four hours with the investment magnate, who will answer their questions on various topics. The piece includes the complete visit schedule.
- Grenier aux Nouvelles writes about the 2016-2017 fundraising campaign for the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, which includes a show of photographs of Montrealers striking poses representing some of the museum's more famous works of art. The article features several of the photos, including one of Concordia student Ariane van Doorn and 10-year-old Anoukie Labelle, representing the William Bouguereau painting, Parure des champs.
- Concordia rugby player, exercise student Laetitia Royer is profiled in La Revue.
- NHL.com mentions Concordia finance student Dennis Gudbranson in a piece about Gudbransen's older brother, Erik. Dennis, diagnosed with myeloid leukemia, received a bone marrow transplant through an anonymous donor twelve years ago. His hockey-playing brother has been noted for his efforts to convince more young Canadian men to sign up as stem cell donors.
- AMEQ en ligne (behind a paywall) reprises an article from Quartier Libre, reporting that a recent interuniversity brewing competition named two winning teams of students for the best artisinal beer: one from Concordia (Les Brasseurs Illuminés) and the other from the ÉTS (GéniALE).
